Steve Carpenter recently opened Phat Crab in Carillon Beach town center and requested the oil and cold wax art of Lori Drew to complete the laid-back atmosphere of his newest restaurant. “What better way to offer a special treat to the community than to mix local art and fine dining,” said Drew. Twenty-three new works adorn the walls and all are for sale. “I am honored to be a part of this new venture, adding a delightful spark of enthusiasm to a great little town center.”Phat Crab is open from 5-10 p.m. every day except Wednesdays.

The Cultural Arts Alliance is calling all CAA member artists interested in submitting work for consideration in the 2019 Foster Gallery Fall Rotation. The Grand Boulevard location rotation is scheduled for July 16 – Sept. 30, 2019. The Ruskin Place Artist Colony location rotation is slated for July 30 – Oct. 27, 2019. Artists with an interest is both locations can indicate such on the application and need only complete one.Submission deadline is Friday, June 24 at 11PM CST.
The Cultural Arts Alliance is calling all artists and vendors interested in submitting for consideration in the 2019 Flutterby Arts Festival scheduled for October 19 – 20 in the beautiful Watersound Origins community. All submissions will be juried and invitations to participate will be sent out Wednesday, September 18. You will have until Friday, September 27 to accept the invitation to exhibit and pay your booth fee. Those invited artists who apply by July 4 will pay a discounted early-bird booth fee of $125. Those invited artists applying after July 4 will pay a booth fee of $150
Submission deadline is Monday, Sept. 16 at 11PM CST.
The CAA is calling all artists interested in submitting work for consideration in the 32nd Annual ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival scheduled for May 9-10, 2020 in Grand Boulevard Town Center. Artists are invited to apply in the categories of Mixed Media, Ceramics, Works on Paper, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, Oils & Acrylics, Photography, Digital Art, Sculpture, and Wood (including furniture). Apply before September 10, 2019 and receive an early bird jury fee.
