Liza Snyder, born in Mobile, AL, and raised in St. Simons Island, GA, considered herself an artist at an early age. After studying printmaking and obtaining a BFA from Auburn University in 2001, Liza put down creating for a long season. A friend’s urging and a personal reawakening allowed her art to reemerge. Today, her paintings, drawings and patterns are distinguished by vibrant color, organic shape and contour line. Liza’s hope is that her creations invite the viewer to both joy and contemplation, just as sitting down with a friend over coffee might do.
Liza is an art teacher at a local elementary school, and enjoys journeying with her students through their creative endeavors. She also enjoys teaching private lessons and art camps at her studio and at local events. Life is colorful and chaotic, and her personal works express this. Liza’s home and studio are located on the Choctawhatchee Bay, just north of Scenic Highway 30-A.
