The Underwater Museum of Art is a permanent sculpture park located in the Gulf of Mexico off Grayton Beach State Park in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. It lies approximately 60ft below the surface and 0.7 miles off shore. The Cultural Arts Alliance partnered with the South Walton Artificial Reef Association to create the nation’s first underwater museum. Seven sculptures were chosen after a nationwide call to artists for the first installment of the UMA. The sculptures will attract a variety of marine life, and over time will transform into a living reef. Ever since the deployment on June 25th, 2018, the UMA is officially open to divers and marine life!
