In mid-March Joan Vienot will be returning to Port St. Joe, Apalachicola, Mexico Beach, Carabelle, and St. George Island to work at two plein air painting events. Plein Air South is a 5-day conference for painters, with master artists presenting lectures, demonstrations, and panel discussions. Joan will coordinate faculty and logistics this year. The following week she again will teach one-on-one 2-hour painting lessons introducing people to the practice of plein air painting in her role as a Florida’s Finest Ambassador at the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air event. Register for a session, all materials and equipment provided, at https://forgottencoastculturalcoalition.wildapricot.org/AMBASSADORS.

Locally Joan serves as the volunteer coordinator for the Emerald Coast Plein Air Painters, who meet every Wednesday morning to paint scenes in Okaloosa and Walton Counties. All media and all skill levels are welcome, with no dues or fees. For more information, go to https://www.facebook.com/EmeraldCoastPleinAirPainters. A selection of Joan’s larger works can be seen at J.Leon Gallery in Miramar Beach, FL. She is online at joanvienot.com
