LINDA SASSE
In the words of Linda Sasse…I use rich acrylic paint on stretched canvas to create vibrant images, usually in more abstract expressions. For texture and depth, I like to use layers of underpainting, thick gesso, and sometimes collage elements. I like the effects of splashing and splattering.
My subject matter comes from impressions gathered from traveling – especially in Central and South America, memories of growing up in the South, and everyday observations. My favorite line of poetry is Tennyson’s “I am a part of all that I have met”. I, like most of us, absorb sights, moods, and colors around me, and they are expressed in the paintings.
