Big Mama’s would like to welcome Gems of Construction to our gallery. Blake Miller creates these beautiful pieces of jewelry using recycled copper. One of the necklaces contains driftwood from our local beaches. The jewelry is so unique and very affordable.
There are no storms brewing in Inlet Beach, but there is a whirlwind of incredible original art at East End Gallery, located on the corner of Hwy 30a and 98 in the Shades Bar and Grill complex. The new “Brainstorm” collection, showcasing 17 local and regional artists with 62 new works, is designed to get you thinking and feeling about fine art in a new way.
And what better way to kick off the new collection than with an Art After Hours event, as the gallery joins the Artists of 30a’s First Friday ArtWalk on Feb. 7, from 4-7 p.m.! Grab a glass of wine and a plate of homemade lite bites, then stroll through the gallery with a new perspective, embracing the unexpected as your brain opens up and creates a storm of sensations.
East End Gallery is, in itself, the result of creative brainstorming. The “why not” question was asked two years ago. Why not combine a title company with an art gallery, introducing new homeowners to the art world and fueling the synergy between both Blue Title and East End Gallery. The location represents a collaboration between art and business thought to be a first of its kind in the area. The gallery coexists in the same space as Blue Title, one of South Walton County’s leading title companies. The partnership provides the gallery and its art with a high-end, high-traffic location and exposure to people who love and invest in our community.
Now, in it’s seventh rotation exhibit, which changes quarterly, the gallery is excited to share new works by local artists Jenna Varny, Patti Overholt, Laurel Siwicki, Brendan Parker, Renee Broxson, Curt Couch, Krista Vind, Debi Perkins, Lori Drew and Robyn Martins. Regional artists include Trish Land, Laurie Kwo, Michelle Jones, Gina Hecht, Jules Williamson, Keri Keene and Laurens Cottens.
The “Brainstorm” collection will be featured now through April 3, with Monday – Friday hours, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. For additional information, call or text 850-252-5150.

Joan Vienot is exhibiting her collection of paintings produced for her theme, Sea & Sky, at Anne Hunter Galleries at 25 Central Square in Seaside, Florida, March 1 through April 30, 2020.
Joan says “I am fascinated by the rapidly changing energy and imagery of both forms of water, from puffy summer cotton balls scudding across the sky, to dramatic threatening thunderheads, and similarly, the gentle lap of clear water on a calm day, and the roaring surf of an approaching storm.” Initially studying realistic color transitions and rhythmic patterns, the theme carried her into expressive, iconic imagery.
Open daily, the gallery will have a number of opportunities to visit with Joan.
Opening reception March 13 5pm-8pm
Mondays, demos and activities 9am-3pm
Thursdays, Meet the Artist, 5-8pm
First Fridays, wine and cheese, 5-8pm
Park in public parking on Road 283 across from Hurricane Oyster Bar, and take the Seaside Shuttle. Anne Hunter Galleries is at 25 Central Square, adjoining Amavida Coffee.
Or use valet parking in Seaside on Quincy Circle (west side), behind the Gallery.

INTRO to Color Theory – 1/22/20 6-8:30pm $95
Color theory introduces students to basic color mixing, how to make their own color charts and how to use specific color combinations to create certain visual effects like depth and shadow. This was my favorite and most valuable class in college and is a great building block for all workshops.
INTRO to Landscape – 1/29/20 6-8:30pm $95
The landscape workshop teaches basic skills on how to approach a landscape painting, including easy tips on where to start a landscape, how to scale and how to use color to create depth. I was blown away by the works created by my ‘non artist’ students!
INTRO to Portrait – 2/5/20 6-8:30pm $95
This portrait workshop is a really easy and a fun way to learn portrait in an expressionistic style. It sounds intimidating but I’ll ease you into creating an image that will make you proud. I’m pretty sure students in my portrait workshops laugh more than in any other workshop, its so fun!
INTRO to Abstract and Texture – 2/12/20 6-8:30pm $95

The art will be featured in a story in the February issue of Southwest Art Magazine.
