Artists Called to Submit Work

The CAA invites artists to apply to exhibit in the 31st Annual ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival happening May 11 – 12, 2019 in South Walton, FL, along Northwest Florida’s beaches.

Artists who apply before January 31, 2019 will receive an early bird jury and booth rate fee. Artists are invited to apply in the categories of Mixed Media, Ceramics, Works on Paper, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, Oils & Acrylics, Photography, Digital Art, Sculpture, and Wood (including furniture). Read the full press release here.

The Artist Call is NOW LIVE for those interested in submitting work for consideration in the 2019 Underwater Museum of Art deployment scheduled for Summer 2019. The submission deadline is Thursday, January 31 at 11PM CST. 

The Cultural Arts Alliance is calling all member artists interested in submitting work for consideration in the 2019 Foster Gallery Spring Rotation. The Grand Boulevard location rotation is scheduled for January 29 – April 22, 2019. The Ruskin Place Artist Colony location rotation is slated for February 5 – April 29, 2019. Artists with an interest is both locations can indicate such on the application and need only complete one. The submission deadline is Friday, January 18 at 11PM CST. Who doesn’t love a discount!! Plein air painter Joan Vienot is currently exhibiting as one of the juried artists at the Foster Gallery in Ruskin Place Artists Colony in Seaside. She is offering a new, freshly completed oil painting, hot off the easel, the price marked as much as 50% off, for one week only. Each week she brings a different, new, wet painting and she will continue this promotion through the month of January, 2019. Stop by on Saturday afternoons to get first dibs! Art After Hours @ East End Gallery

 
One of Dr. Seuss’ famous quotes is the inspiration for a local art gallery’s new exhibit designed to bring calm to the hectic holiday season — “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”  The collection of 65 new works from 24 local and regional artists reminds us to slow down and appreciate the simple gifts life brings us each day.  Join us this Friday, Dec. 7, 4-7 p.m. for light bites and wine in a calm and casual atmosphere.
 
East End Gallery is located next to Shades Bar & Grill on Co Hwy 30a in Inlet Beach and is open Monday- Friday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturdays by appointment.  This new exhibit will run through Jan. 19.
 
Artists showcased in this exhibit include Emmy Grier, Jacques Camp, Jaycee Oliver, Allison Rollins, Amee Calloway, Linda “Red” Harrison, Anne McLeod, Gina Hecht, Debi Perkins, Donnelle Clark, Krista Vind, Mary Redmann, Lorra Kurtz, Robin Wiesneth, Carol Ann Cain, Corinne Bizzle, Patti Overholt, Theresia McInnis, Helen Lary, Meghan Starling, Karen Foye Murray, Misty Kimbrough, Helga Latourneau and Lori Drew.

The Front House Gallery Opens New Exhibit at Emerald Coast Theatre Company

Theatre goers have a new Lowkylzart show and sale for their enjoyment as Emerald Coast Theatre Company presents “It’s A Wonderful Life — A Live Radio Play” beginning Thursday, Dec. 6 at 560 Grand Blvd. Upstairs in Miramar Beach.

“Littles” is a collection of 70 small, original works from 15 local artists, perfect for all the art lovers on your holiday list, including you.

Tuesday Artist Meet Up

 
Artist friends,  please join us in January at our Tuesday Artist Meet Up group!  (location tbd) Local artists meet the first Tuesday of each month for coffee and shop talk often at a local coffee shop or at one of our studios.  Discussions are open and revolve around business issues like selling art in our area, social media, shipping, shows, etc.  We break up @11.  We have a facebook group too where we can post questions to each other and good articles we find, etc., throughout the  month.  Please send me an email if you want to be on the email list/FB group. Our local artists are so generous! I’ve really enjoyed getting to know everyone and learning and sharing.

An Update from Big Mama’s Hula Girl Gallery

 
Big Mama’s Hula Girl Gallery is proud to announce the arrival of the Shyla Moon bracelet to help raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Michael.   The bracelets are hand stamped “850 Strong”.  100% of the proceeds will go to Hiland Park Baptist Church in Panama City.    The bracelets cost $20.

The Shard Shop is hosting pop-up shop, ShardWorx Salvage+Craft,  for a Mega SHARD SALE!  Over 10,000 pounds of unique vintage glass pieces will be available, including Mary Hong’s secret shard stash!  Glass enthusiasts will find sliced bottles, shards by the pound, ceramic pieces, mosaic supplies and FREE shards!  Nov 6-16 at Grayton Shard Shop and Nov 19-29 at Destin Shard Shop.
